ARCHIVE Global is an award-winning international non-profit organization that utilizes architectural design to reduce the global burden of disease. Working within socioeconomically vulnerable communities around the world, we apply innovative, low-cost housing design solutions to improve living conditions and health outcomes for the poorest of the poor. With projects in 10 countries, ARCHIVE has directly benefitted thousands around the world with improved living conditions and healthier lives. We've also reached over ten thousand people with training, education, and awareness campaigns promoting the vital connection between housing and health.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
We are launching an inaugural art and architectural design charity auction in NYC and seek an experienced Special Events Officer to supervise the successful roll out of this event set for fall/winter 2017.
Based on a high profile annual event held by our sister organization in London, the event is centered on renowned artists and architects volunteering to create one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the city. These unique works are then auctioned to raise funds for various global projects.
The Special Events Officer will work with our UK affiliate and our US team to bring this event to NYC. She or he will be responsible for all aspects of this process from creating the North American brand to the selection of venue, and the creation of a strong sponsorship coalition.
POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
ARCHIVE seeks an experienced and ambitious Special Events Officer who shares our passion and commitment to alleviating the ill-effects of preventable diseases among the most vulnerable communities around the world. The Special Events Officer will take ownership of this project and oversee the full lifecycle of this event.
Key Responsibilities:
· Adapting the fundraiser to NYC
· Collaborating to create the NYC media brand
· Identifying and cultivating a strategic coalition of various tiered sponsorship levels
· Strategizing promotional campaign
· Coordinating and supervising event planning volunteers and interns
EXPERIENCE
· 5+ years of experience including substantive experience successfully involved in and rolling out high quality events
· Experience with media and brand awareness strategies
· Experience in sales and marketing
Desirable
· 5+ years of experience centered on fundraising events with revenues of more than 100K
· Experience in supervisory and project leadership roles
SKILLS
Required
· Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferably in communications, hospitality, or public relations
· Robust organizational skills
· Excellent public speaking & presentation abilities
· Understanding of visual arts
· Attention to detail
Desirable
· Design experience
· Art curation experience
TRAVEL
· Some travel throughout the NYC metro area and Tri-State area will be necessary
COMPENSATION
· In addition to a base salary commensurate with professional experience, the Special Events Officer will receive an additional performance bonus based on the revenue from the event
